Building a sustainable tomorrow

At BAM UK & Ireland, our projects shape communities, from schools and hospitals to transport infrastructure and digital innovation. Our Communications team plays a vital role in showcasing this impact, telling the stories behind our work and engaging colleagues, clients and communities in our journey to build a sustainable tomorrow.

As Communications Advisor, you’ll be part of a passionate team focused on Making Possible BAM’s work across Ireland. Supporting the Communications Manager and wider Communications team, you’ll help deliver engaging internal and external communications that bring our projects, people and vision to life.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for the next step in their communications career who’s eager to learn, collaborate and grow within a supportive and ambitious organisation.

Your mission

• Support the Communications Manager, Ireland, in the delivery of the communications plan for the business and work with the wider communications team to deliver BAM UK & Ireland’s communication plans and content calendars across internal and external channels.
• Engage with and support any PR agencies we work with in Ireland, providing direction and clarity on our plans.
• Help create engaging content (news stories, social posts, internal updates, video scripts) that supports key business priorities for the Irish business.
• Build relationships with project teams to spot storytelling opportunities across our construction, civil engineering, and facilities management work.
• Coordinate and draft copy for BAM’s internal platform Pulse, social media, and website, ensuring a consistent tone and message.
• Support planning and logistics for site visits, photography, filming and other key events.
• Collaborate with the wider Communication teams to gather insights, write features, and source visuals.
• Maintain Monday.com, ensuring activity is up-to-date and aligned with the wider team.
• Stay informed about BAM’s sustainability, innovation, and people strategies – and help share relevant stories that support them.

Who are we looking for?

• A strong communicator and creative thinker with excellent written and verbal skills.
• Someone curious and enthusiastic about discovering and sharing stories that matter.
• An organised and proactive team player, comfortable managing multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of social media, digital communications, or internal comms tools is desirable.
• Ability to write clearly and adapt tone/style for different audiences.
• A keen eye for detail and an interest in visual storytelling (images, video, graphics).
• A genuine interest in the construction, infrastructure or sustainability sectors.
• Experience in communications/PR is essential. While experience in marketing or journalism (via employment, internship or education) would be an advantage.
• A full driving licence is required, as the role will involve regular travel.
Qualifications:
• A degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
