We are currently seeking a Construction Planner to join our team. The candidate must be proficient in the use of programming software systems (e.g. Primavera P6 and MS Project, etc) and demonstrate proficiency in developing and maintaining progress databases.
Key activities will include:
* Create, maintain, review and administer construction programmes and schedules.
* Liaise with managers and engineers to review the progress of projects and address issues.
* Liaise and co-ordinate work activity with external contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
* Monitor live projects and provide progress reports to present to both the project team and the client.
* Present information for internal meetings.
* Identifying programme risks and problem solving.
* Assisting with consultations and negotiations with consultants and developers.
* Develop pre-construction requirements and produce schedules to achieve construction dates.
* Have knowledge of the planning requirements of different forms of construction contracts.
* Have an understanding of modern building techniques, plant & equipment and an appreciation of logistical needs/issues.
* Have an appreciation of the impact of cost in the compilation of a programme and development of a construction solution.
* Provide planning input/information for PQQs, tender responses to support bids and also for live projects.
* Provide information for and attend pre-tender, mid-tender and post tender interviews.
Requirements
* 5+ years' experience in a similar role; main contracting experience desirable
* Construction related degree also desirable
* Excellent time management skills and must be able to adhere to deadlines
* Strong analytical skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Advanced IT skills
