Position Summary The Senior Lending Officer will form a positive part of the lending assessment team and implement effective lending risk assessments under the guidance and direction of the Lending Team Leader and policies / procedures in place. The Senior Lending Officer will be responsible for ensuring lending risks in the lending portfolio are identified and assessed; then managed and mitigated to an acceptable tolerance level as set out by the Board of Directors. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: The Senior Lending Officer will be required to comply with key operational aspects of the lending assessment activities within the credit union and their duties and responsibilities will include: Handling Loan applications from members from Initial Query to Payout for our range of Lending Products, such as Personal Loans, Mortgages, Business Loans & Community Loans. Forward thinking and being able to plan without prompting Be a reliable, flexible, supportive and approachable team member Training & Mentoring new staff members Update and review the CRM system to ensure Loan enquiries are looked after in a timely manner. In the absence of the Lending Team Lead, Senior Loans Officers will take on the necessary responsibilities of the Lending Team Leader Working with the Lending Team Leader on growing and developing the loans book. To assist the Lending Team Leader and colleagues with the assessment and issuing of loans in line with policies and procedures Assessing, developing, implementing, monitoring and reviewing the loan underwriting processes and procedures in the credit union Complying with the operational requirements of the lending function. Assisting in the implementation and monitoring of the systems and controls required in the lending function Assist in the implementation of plans to develop and promote all products on offer to members. The above list is not exhaustive and may be subject to change in line with the needs of the business The successful candidates will have: APA minimum, QFA and ability to attain subsequent role related qualifications will be required Minimum 1 year lending experience Experience in Mortgage or SME Lending is an advantage Excellent administration skills and attention to detail The ability to work as part of a team with good communication and organisational skills A strong member focus to maintain high standards of service The willingness to be flexible and take on new tasks and projects Good IT and Presentation skills Flexibility of working hours and location is required.
