EMT and RMS Research Leader

Job Summary and Description:
Conducts research in complex, high-impact technical or scientific fields.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
* Works independently on technical activities without direct supervision.
* Conducts technical searches and analyzes information in support of the project team.
* Demonstrates responsibility for highly specialized technical objectives or problems where cause-and-effect relationships are difficult to establish, requiring creative thinking.
* Applies technical expertise and has full knowledge of related disciplines.
* Develops technical solutions to complex problems using ingenuity and creativity.
Leads research initiatives in electromagnetics transient phenomena, focusing on renewables such as wind and solar energy systems. Oversees the development of innovative HVDC inverter technologies to enhance low-energy system performance.
Additional Requirements:
* Develops relationships with primary advisors in the research area.
* Assists EPRI sales staff in Member Services and International programs.
* Communicates strategies and results to program members, potential members, and external stakeholders through reports, meetings, webcasts, workshops, and conferences.
* Ensures work is coordinated across EPRI programs.
* May oversee project teams to meet technical and financial milestones.
* Organizes external and interdepartmental activities to ensure project completion on schedule and within budget.
* Supports planning and execution of complex projects; prepares and presents research reports.
* Manages small to medium projects, including budgets and resources.
* Interacts with national and international technical networks.
* Supports proposal efforts and promotional activities.
* Develops research or service opportunities aligned with EPRI’s mission.
* Provides guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required.
