Security Consultant - Venafi
About the Role
My client, a leading financial services organisation, is seeking an experienced Venafi Consultant to support and enhance their security architecture within a highly regulated environment. This is a daily rate contract position offering remote working with occasional office visits. 6 month initial contract.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the integration, configuration, and ongoing management of the Venafi platform across enterprise environments
2. Collaborate closely with security and infrastructure teams to deliver certificate lifecycle management solutions
3. Provide technical expertise in certificate automation, encryption, and security compliance
4. Work with stakeholders to define and implement PKI strategies aligned with business requirements
5. Improve processes for certificate issuance, renewal, and revocation
6. Ensure best practices in key management and secure communications across platforms
7. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to digital certificates and encryption technologies
8. Produce documentation and support knowledge transfer to internal teams
Required Experience
9. Minimum of 5 years' experience in IT Security, with a strong focus on digital certificates and PKI
10. Proven hands-on experience with the Venafi platform in an enterprise environment
11. Strong understanding of security standards and compliance frameworks
12. Experience working in highly regulated environments, ideally within financial services
Desirable Skills
13. Scripting experience (. PowerShell, Python) for automation
14. Knowledge of cloud security, particularly AWS and Azure
15. Experience with TLS/SSL certificate lifecycle management and associated risk controls
16. Understanding of HSM integration and secure key storage
Education
17. Third-level degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline
