The ideal candidate will be an experienced individual with prior medical secretary experience, who understands the importance of calm, clear communication. They will be key in helping our busy consultant stay aligned with processes, manage time effectively, and maintain clinical quality.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the first point of contact for families
* Manage the consultant's calendar, appointments, and correspondence
* Prepare clinical materials, draft letters, and type reports with precision
* Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring GDPR compliance
* Liaise with GPs, hospitals, schools, and diagnostic services to coordinate care
* Handle payments, billing queries, and insurance claims using software
* Track tasks and ensure administrative follow-through
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A background as a medical secretary or in a similar healthcare administration role; familiar with medical terminology and medical transcription
* An organised approach, someone who thrives on structure and can bring clarity to others
* An empathetic nature, a calm, mature presence who can engage with families from a place of understanding
* Tech-confidence, comfortable using technology, learning new skills and exploring novel system use for an effective delivery of services
