Role Overview
As a Sales Consultant – Group Risk Insurance, you will play a pivotal role in supporting business development and sales teams across the Irish Group Risk markets. You will serve as a trusted partner to the sales function, targeting Tier 1 and Tier 2 brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless end‑to‑end experience across onboarding, renewals, policy servicing, and proposition delivery. You will combine deep technical expertise in Group Risk (Life & Disability) with exceptional relationship‑building skills and a strong operational mindset to drive growth, retention, and service excellence. This is a high‑impact role suited for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys building strong professional relationships, and can manage both strategic and day‑to‑day execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the primary contact for the sales function and brokers, delivering exceptional service via phone, email, and in meetings.
* Support onboarding and ongoing management of Tier 1 and Tier 2 brokers in the UK and Ireland.
* Attend and support broker/adviser meetings alongside the sales team, delivering product presentations and value‑added service propositions.
* Assist the marketing function to create tailored marketing material, sales decks, and reporting packs for client and broker meetings.
* Prepare and deliver bespoke proposals, renewal packs, and policy review documentation.
* Manage and continuously improve internal workflows and timelines for quotes, renewals, and claims with underwriting and operations teams.
* Own and update CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) with key opportunities, contacts, and broker feedback to ensure visibility and pipeline accuracy.
* Monitor and support policy servicing tasks post‑sale, ensuring operational efficiency and broker satisfaction.
* Identify and resolve any bottlenecks affecting turnaround or experience.
* Provide expert insight into Group Life and Group Income Protection (Disability) products, including Master Trusts, Value‑Added Services, and typical T&Cs.
* Keep abreast of competitor offerings, market developments, and broker trends to inform sales strategy and positioning.
* Support the rollout of new propositions, marketing materials, and technology enhancements.
* Organize and assist virtual or face‑to‑face client presentations to explain the value of employee benefits and added services.
* Participate in policy review meetings and generate PDR (Policy Data Review) reports with the existing business team.
* Support retention initiatives by identifying service improvement opportunities and acting as the main contact in the absence of the Relationship Manager or Sales Consultant.
Key Skills & Experience
Required:
* 2+ years’ experience in group risk insurance (life and/or disability), ideally across both UK and Irish markets.
* Strong experience working with financial advisers, brokers, and/or intermediaries.
* Demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships and deliver professional presentations both virtually and in person.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail.
* Confident using Salesforce or equivalent CRM systems.
* Customer‑focused, empathetic, and proactive mindset.
Preferred:
* In‑depth knowledge of Group Risk T&Cs, Master Trust structures, and value‑added services.
* Understanding of the internal structure and decision‑making processes within Tier 1 and Tier 2 brokerages.
* Experience working within a multinational or fast‑growing insurance business.
* Familiarity with digital tools and a willingness to support process improvement through technology.
