Role Overview
The Head of Procurement will oversee all purchasing activities across Shabra Group, ensuring that materials, products, and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with the company's sustainability and quality objectives.
This leadership role is central to maintaining smooth production operations and supporting Shabra's circular economy goals. The successful candidate will have strong commercial acumen, supplier management experience, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. They will demonstrate integrity, strategic thinking, and a commitment to Shabra's values of innovation, sustainability, and community impact.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure best value, quality, and supply chain reliability.
· Oversee supplier selection, evaluation, and contract negotiations to maintain strong, ethical relationships.
· Work closely with the production, logistics, and finance teams to forecast material requirements and manage stock levels.
· Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and compliance with company standards and sustainability policies.
· Identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities across the procurement function.
· Ensure all purchasing activities are recorded and maintained accurately within ERP systems.
· Lead and mentor procurement and purchasing staff, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
· Manage a small number of existing, strategic clients to ensure their needs are met and they have continuous access to the products and services they require.
· Collaborate with the management team to support business growth, project planning, and product development initiatives.
· Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and environmental regulations.
Required Qualifications
· Relevant qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
· Minimum of five years' experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing management.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
· Experience using ERP systems to manage purchasing and supplier data.
· Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Experience
· Experience within the plastics, recycling, or manufacturing industry.
· Knowledge of sustainable sourcing practices and circular economy principles.
· Track record of implementing cost-reduction and supplier-performance initiatives.
