Job Title: Family Care Professional
Cultivate genuine and caring relationships with young people, prioritizing dignity and respect in all interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to a safe, welcoming, and therapeutic environment that promotes the physical, emotional, social, cultural, ethnic, and spiritual well-being of young people.
* Advocate for the rights and responsibilities of each young person while ensuring their protection from harm.
* Supervise outings and participate in daily household activities such as cooking and cleaning to model positive behaviors.
* Engage in regular communication with colleagues and managers through daily handovers, team meetings, and reviews.
* Maintain accurate records and reports for each young person in line with statutory requirements and policies.
* Assume key worker duties including handling petty cash, documenting receipts, and serving as a primary point of contact.
* Collaborate with support networks, educators, guardians, and family members to provide comprehensive care.
* Participate in community engagement and agency partnerships to enrich residents' experiences and opportunities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Physical ability to support young people with challenging behaviors when needed.
* Emotional intelligence and empathy to provide support during difficult or stressful times.
* Understanding of youth trauma and past experiences, with specialized training in Developmental Trauma and Attachment.
* Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within a team.
