Arcadis DPS Engineering are seeking an Electrical Facilities Technician for a pharmaceutical assignment located in Ringaskiddy, Cork. This is initially a 12- month contract with view to a possible extension.
Responsibilities
• Manage and maintain electrical infrastructure including medium and low voltage (MV/LV) power distribution, lighting, emergency generators, and process gas delivery systems.
• Responsible for managing and maintaining all electrical infrastructure and utilities, supporting wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) operations, and ensuring compliance with GMP and safety standards to sustain operational excellence.
• Support and maintain other electrical system components such as solar systems, life safety systems (fire & gas), sprinkler systems, and low-pressure hot water systems.
• Perform routine inspections, preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical assets including switchgears, transformers, and distribution panels.
• Safely carry out electrical work in potentially explosive atmospheres (CompEx/ATEX), ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and site teams on infrastructure projects and upgrades. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, compliance, and system performance.
• Ensure all activities meet safety and GMP standards, including LOTOTO procedures and impairments.
• Perform any other activities as required to support operational reliability and continuous improvement.
Requirements
• Trade qualification or Electrical Engineering qualification.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in facilities/utilities management within GMP or regulated environments.
• Proven hands-on experience working with medium and low voltage (MV/LV) electrical systems, including maintenance and troubleshooting.
• CompEx certification (or equivalent) for working in potentially explosive environments is essential.
• Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure, safety standards, and GMP requirements.
• Experience with electrical systems such as alarm management, emergency power, and UPS systems.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex electrical issues.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
