An exciting opportunity has risen within our company reporting to the Operations Manager the successful candidate will be given the chance to be part of a thriving business and a highly motivated team.
This exciting role is to manage day to day warehouse activities across site, to provide up to date information and communicate to the highest level internally and externally whilst ensuring that all service levels are met and where possible exceeded. Manage and drive productivity and accuracy in order to maximize all resources whilst ensuring adherence to customer levels and targets. Leading by example, actively promotes and fosters a culture where health & safety / hygiene and customer service are of the highest priority.
What is expected of the candidate?
* Accomplishes warehouse and human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, adhering to policies and procedures
* Meets warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.
* Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of the department activities. Monitoring staff performances ensuring all staff adhering to expected operational targets.
* Communicate with and provide the relevant information/reports on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. Ensure all queries are addressed and closed out on and advised to Site General Manager where applicable.
* Where errors / problems occur, conducts route-cause analysis including the implementation of corrective preventative measures in order to prevent reoccurrence.
* The completion of daily operational audits (both warehouse & yard) at the beginning of each shift in order to ensure any health & safety / hygiene non-conformances are identified and addressed immediately.
* Ensures all operational functions and process are completed in accordance with company policy and statutory legislation e.g. Health & Safety, Security, Loss Prevention and Quality Standards.
* Ensures the timely and accurate completion of all operational functions (receipt, put-way, replenishment, picking and despatch) and processes in order to maintain accurate inventory levels are maintained at all times.
* Maintenance of training records and holidays, managing the development of employees in order to ensure adequate cover of during period of holidays / absence and in response to fluctuations of peak volumes.
* Liaise with management to ensure accuracy of stock, following up on all shorts/damage issues and implementation of any corrective and preventative actions.
* Conduct Daily shift meetings with staff, communicating shift expectations, company updates and any improvements required, with a specific focus on operational and hygiene excellence.
* Ensuring comprehensive shift handover takes place at the end of each shift with oncoming management and completing the relevant handover documentation in full for review by the Operations Manager.
* Manage and assist in daily Warehouse and Transport operations ensuring all staff are operating to the required standards and rates.
* Ensure accuracy of consignments and supporting documentation for all outbound orders.
* Ensure adequate systems and process are in place and managed accordingly.
* Maximizes warehouse storage capacity by organising both floor space and racking locations.
* Recommend measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and team members and equipment performance.
Experience Require for the Role
3 years + management experience (ideally in a large FMCG environment.
Knowledge of warehouse management systems ideally SAP and voice operations.
Proficient in the use of MS office applications
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Excellent leadership and demonstrates real passion for people.
Excellent attention to detail and analysing skills.
Ability to adhere to meet deadlines.
Degree qualification in logistic supply chain management an advantage.
