This individual will work independently as well as in a dynamic team where they will receive coaching and mentoring form the Sr Manager, Global Payroll Services.The incumbent will adhere to the appropriate accounting for payroll and regulatory compliance with internal controls and procedures for all responsible countries within PTC Therapeutics.The Sr. Payroll Specialist, will collaborate closely across functions, including but not limited to Finance, Accounting and Human Resources. The incumbent will ensure high level of accuracy and timeliness in payroll programs/systems. Ideally this individual will have an aptitude for numbers with a great attention to detail and very strong Excel skills. They must also maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive employee and proprietary information.Job DescriptionResponsibilities of the role include:Process payroll for multiple countries within EMEA/APAC, including review and approve colleagues payroll as backup to Sr. Payroll ManagerMaintain all payroll records appropriatelySupport payroll journal entries with AccountingProcess new hires, changes and terminations in an accurate and timely manner with payroll provider to ensure smooth data transferEnsure a high level of customer service is provided on a broad range of employee services related issues (time and attendance, overtime, taxation, equity, etc)Uphold a strong internal controls environment, as required by Sarbanes Oxley, by maintaining effective controls and proceduresCommunicate and actively partner with HR, Legal, Finance and other senior management as needed on all payroll related mattersSupport Payroll manager when required on projectsEnsure consistency in the delivery of global payroll to employees and maintain reliability in meeting deadlines, understanding employee and management needs, troubleshooting effectively to ensure optimal global payroll operationsRecommend process/system enhancements to streamline the current payroll process to ensure efficient and timely payrollsRequirements For The Role Include5 - 8 years related global payroll experience in a corporate or business settingDemonstrated knowledge of employment tax laws and regulationsDemonstrated, hands-on experience with global HR & Payroll systems such as: Workday, ADP Streamline, PwC, etcAbility to handle highly confidential information with appropriate discretion and sensitivityExcellent interpersonal verbal, written, and presentation skills in communication with external and internal stakeholders at all levelsHave a strong appreciation for driving data integrity, process improvement and high-quality service leveraging information and technologyHighly analytical with Excellent Excel skillsStrong customer service orientation for our internal partners and company’s employeesAbility to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team membersAnalytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlinesExcellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projectsSpecial knowledge or skills and/or licenses or certificates preferred.Experience working in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related environment.Bachelor’s DegreeTravel requirements5%EEO StatementPTC Therapeutics is an equal opportunity employer.
