The Role As an Assistant Operations Manager, you will supervise and co-ordinate day-to-day operations at our Ringaskiddy Port site. Specifically, you will provide key support to the Operations Manager across areas including people and team management, technical operations, cost control, quality, measurement and organisation. On a day-to-day basis, you will ensure we are following operational best practice and all staff are trained, supported and managed effectively. You will make sure we are compliant with TASCC, ISO 9001 and HSE policies whilst helping to manage the cost base and maximising opportunities for revenue growth. Additionally, you will ensure that we meet annual KPI targets, developing plans to support this and analysing data to resolve issues. You will also maintain admin systems for reporting and planning and play a vital role in the implementation of company policies and strategies. Your role will also involve: - Ensuring there is supervisory, operational and 3rd party cover for all vessel discharge operations - Making sure all operations are performed in an effective and efficient manner - Working with other parties to deliver smooth product flow in and out of facilities - Assisting with the development training practices - Ensuring all team members are aware of internal and external best practice - Promoting a positive and collaborative environment - Making sure appropriate HR system are in place to manage team members - Maintaining port operational budgets - Helping to implement cost controls for operational expenses - Building relationships with all stakeholders maintaining high levels of communication - Ensuring we operate within relevant legislation - Supporting the delivery of prompt and accurate admin and reporting tasks About You To be considered as an Assistant Operations Manager, you will need: - Previous experience in a Warehousing/Facilities Management role - Proven knowledge of cost base improvements - A strong understanding of TASCC and ISO9001 standards and audit processes - The ability to engage and build relationships with a range of stakeholders, such as port officials and agents and logistics partners - Excellent communication skills - Experience in Continuous Improvement would be a benefit but is not essential Other organisations may call this role Operations Supervisor, Operations Team Leader, Logistics Supervisor, Assistant Port Manager, or Site Operations Coordinator.
