Job Overview
Role Summary:
The Commissioning Engineer is a key role in the Networks Engineering department, responsible for delivering multi-discipline projects in High Voltage substations across Ireland. This position involves working as a full member of a commissioning team and interfacing with various teams to optimize project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead complex commissioning projects in high voltage substations, ensuring equipment meets all technical requirements before going into service.
* Perform and assess all on-site testing associated with HV Commissioning.
* Provide technical support, training, and advice to existing and new members of the commissioning & Design teams.
* Contribute to the development of work instructions and departmental procedures used by the wider commissioning team.
* Lead fault investigations, carry out detailed analysis, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years relevant industry experience with an in-depth knowledge of electrical design, layout, and standards associated with HV substations.
* Experienced in operational safety.
* Proven ability to work in a team to a high level of performance.
* A strong work ethic with a clear focus on delivery to safety, time, quality, and cost objectives.
* A flexible approach to work as per commissioning requirements.
* A full EU Driving licence (or recognised equivalent) is required.
Desirable Qualifications
* Active involvement in international engineering organisations such as CIGR, IEEE, and IET.
* Fully approved to issue Declaration of Fitness certificate to system controller.
