We are hiring a Senior Medical Scientist into our Hospital in Galway, Ireland.Permanent contract 35 hours per weekResponsibilitiesThe Senior Medical Scientist position is specifically in charge of overseeing the laboratory's Biochemistry/POCT department.
As decided by the Laboratory Management Team, carry out normal, specialized, and research/development tasks to the highest professional standards.
possess practical understanding of and familiarity with ISO15189:2022 accreditation criteria, exhibiting an emphasis on high-quality patient-centered services.
drafting, updating, and maintaining the policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures for the laboratory.
Collaborate with the laboratory team to introduce new concepts, techniques, tools, and processes that are judged necessary.
Assure data accuracy and advance patient safety.RequirementsAt least four years of experience working in a medical laboratory after receiving your degree Enroll in the Medical Scientists Register, which is kept up to date by CORU's Medical Scientists Registration Board.
Have a postgraduate degree at least Level 9 in NFQ or an equivalent degree at least Level 9 that has been approved by the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine.Know how to use point-of-care analyzers and interfaces, as well as biochemistry tests.
