An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic Adventure Manager to join our clients team in County Galway.
This highly motivated individual will lead and manage the Adventure Department, ensuring safe, successful, and profitable operations while delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities: Develop systems and strategies to ensure effective running of the Adventure Department.
Manage recruitment, training, performance, and development of the Adventure team.
Oversee and deliver training standards while maintaining qualifications in specialist activity areas.
Plan and oversee outdoor activity programmes for guests.
Ensure all safety regulations, risk assessments, equipment checks, and incident records are maintained.
Monitor weather and environmental conditions to ensure guest and staff safety.
Manage departmental budgets, labour costs, and financial planning.
Work closely with senior management regarding compliance, insurance, and cross-department collaboration.
Build relationships with key industry stakeholders such as Failte Ireland and ATTA.
Required Education, Skills & Qualifications: Qualifications and experience in a variety of outdoor activities, with at least two relevant instructorships (e.g. RCI, CWI, ERCA).
Up-to-date First Aid certification.
Previous management experience in a similar adventure/outdoor role.
Desirable: Third-level qualification in business management, outdoor education, leadership, recreation, or sports-related discipline.
Hospitality or adventure industry experience.
Skills: Strong leadership and motivational abilities.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Proven ability to manage budgets and achieve labour cost KPIs.
Project management, planning, and organisational skills.
Decision-making and problem-solving ability under pressure.
