RPS, a Tetra Tech company, are recruiting for a Senior / Principal Engineer to join our Water and Utilities business in Ireland, based in Dublin, Galway or Cork. Your focus will be working on Water Services, Flooding & Drainage Projects.

You will be central to the water & drainage team, assisting in the delivery of projects for key public and private sector clients in Ireland and further afield.

About The Role

* Report to Line Manager / Business Unit Leader.
* Work as part of an integrated team to deliver various projects on programme for our clients.
* Carry out site inspections and prepare reports with recommendations including design calculations, drawings, estimates and construction packs.
* Present reports at client meetings for review and discussion.
* Assist others within the company in delivering projects, as may be required.
* Deliver engineering consultancy services to a level expected from a competent and professional Chartered Engineer.


About You

* Level 8 degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering or related discipline. A post graduate Level 9 Masters would be advantageous.
* Chartered membership of a professional body such as Engineers Ireland or Institute of Civil Engineers.
* A minimum of 8 years relevant experience in the design/delivery of one or more of the following – water networks, wastewater collection systems, water & wastewater treatment infrastructure, surface water collection & management systems, flood defence infrastructure.
* Candidates should have a background of working within the Water Services or Flooding & Drainage sectors and demonstrate experience of successful delivery on projects.
* Possess a high level of technical capability.
* A track record in the delivery of water services projects.


Key Skills/Attributes

* Knowledge and experience of public works construction contracts
* Experience in undertaking and leading detailed engineering design and preparing civil and structural specifications for civil engineering infrastructure
* Experience in the preparation of construction contract documents for water services or flooding & drainage infrastructure
* Experience of working as part of Employer-led and/or Contractor-led design teams
* Excellent IT skills, familiar with relevant computer applications; MS Office (MS Word and MS Excel)
* Experience in the use of civil engineering design packages e.g., CAD (Civil 3D preferable) and relevant simulation software (e.g., EPANET, WinDes, Infoworks, etc.)
* Knowledge of BIM would be advantageous.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills to allow you to work effectively within your team and liaise with clients
