The Role
Xenon is seeking a hands-on Technical Project Manager to oversee and deliver key client projects in the Southeast. This role is client-facing, requiring a strong technical background in Fire and Security systems, combined with excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for technically managing some key accounts, ensuring successful project delivery, and ensuring long-term client relationships.
This is a technical role and may suit a senior engineer who wishes to advance his career in project management while continuing to do some hands-on technical work.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Management: Lead and oversee Fire and Security projects from initiation to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget.
* Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong professional relationships and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
* Technical Expertise: Provide support in installation and troubleshooting of Fire and Security solutions.
* Key Account Management: Take responsibility for major client sites in the South East, ensuring consistent service delivery and identifying opportunities for growth.
* Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with directors, providing regular project updates, financial tracking, and operational reports.
* Team Coordination: Liaise with engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices within the business.
Requirements
* Experience: Minimum 7+ years' proven experience in Fire and Security industry, with a strong background in installation, servicing, and commissioning.
* Project Management Skills: Some demonstrated ability to manage projects albeit in a previous purely technical role.
* Client-Facing Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build long-term client relationships.
* Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Fire and Security systems (installation, troubleshooting, commissioning).
* Leadership Potential: Ambition to progress into a senior management position within the business.
* Other Requirements:
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Full clean driver's licence.
