Purpose of the Role The post holder will focus on children and young people under 16 years of age, initially working with patient groups such as children with complex neurodisability/neurodevelopmental conditions, children with ASD/autism facing issues like continence, sleep, and feeding challenges, and any other child requiring neurodisability/neurodevelopmental care support.
They will collaborate with the Children's Neurodisability/Neurodevelopmental Consultants, Nursing, and MDT at CHI at Tallaght to develop and deliver specialist neurodisability/neurodevelopmental services.
The CNS in Neurodisability is a specialized nursing area requiring focused knowledge and skills to improve patient care and meet service needs.
The post holder is responsible for providing evidence-based, specialist nursing care to children and their families.
Essential Criteria: Be registered in the Children's Division of the active Register held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or be entitled to be so registered.
Have 5 years post-registration experience and at least 2 years in the specialty or related area.
Have a recognized postgraduate course relevant to Neurodisability/Complex Needs Nursing of no less than level 8 on the NFQ framework.
Possess the clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity to properly discharge the role's functions.
Demonstrate ongoing learning and professional development.
