Senior Cardiac Physiologist – Part Time

Overview of role
We are hiring a Senior/Cardiac Physiologist on a part-time basis to join our Pre‑Assessment team. The role is 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to provide Saturday service if required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Participate in setting standards and meeting expectations for quality of care.
* Practice within the relevant professional framework while maintaining confidentiality of patient records in accordance with UMPC SSC policy and the Data Protection Act (1998).
* Engage in the established work practices of the Department and stay informed of legislation, amendments, and Health & Safety requirements affecting Cardiac Physiologists and Allied Health Professionals.
* Ensure accurate documentation of reports that meet local service and professional standards.
* Communicate results, data interpretation and reports verbally or in writing to the relevant team and consultants following service policy.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, communicating and working cooperatively with other team members.
* Implement reasonable precautions and safeguards to provide a safe work environment for all personnel and clients, in line with current Health & Safety legislation.
* Take responsibility for one’s own learning and development, demonstrating commitment to ongoing professional development.
* Exercise initiative and diplomacy when addressing patient care issues.
* Maintain accurate and complete client records as per documentation policy.
* Attend mandatory training and ensure compliance with hospital policy.
* Use hospital equipment safely, economically and correctly; report faulty equipment to the relevant department.
* Maintain appropriate consumable stock levels and replenish supplies as needed.
* Complete accurate reports of any accidents or incidents that occur.
* Safeguard patient belongings and valuables in accordance with hospital policy.
* Be willing to be deployed to other areas suitable to your level of competence when required.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
* BSc in Clinical Measurement from Dublin Institute of Technology or Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin); or equivalent Level 8 qualification confirmed by the Irish Institute of Clinical Measurements Science (IICMS) or Irish Institute of Clinical Measurement Science awarded on or before 2005.
* Certificate in Medical Physics and Psychological Measurement (MPPM) from Dublin Institute of Technology.
* Minimum of 3 years full‑time (or an aggregate equivalent) relevant experience as a Cardiac Physiologist.
* Knowledge and capability for all technical aspects of Cardiac Physiology testing.
* High standard of suitability and professional ability to discharge the duties of this office.
Post Specific Requirements
* Competency in performing and reporting transthoracic echocardiography.
* Perform resting ECGs.
* Pacemaker and ICD/CRT programming for theatre.
* Report procedure findings and highlight abnormal findings.
Desired Qualifications
* BSE in Echocardiography or EACVI Adult transthoracic Echocardiography accreditation.
* Strong IT skills.
