Job Description
We are seeking an experienced engineering professional to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee upgrade projects and design work for metered distribution networks, ensuring system optimization, regulatory compliance, and engineering excellence in safety, efficiency, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and Development: Design and upgrade assets within the company's metered distribution network as required.
* Ensure Technical Compliance: Ensure technical compliance with industry regulations, codes, and standards.
* Develop Engineering Specifications: Develop and maintain engineering specifications, procedures, and technical documentation.
* Complete Signoffs: Complete relevant signoffs.
* Collaborate with External Consultants: Collaborate with external consultants as required for complex design solutions.
System Optimization & Risk Management
* Process Optimization: Identify and implement process optimisation initiatives to enhance system efficiency.
* System Analysis: Conduct system analysis and feasibility studies for improvements and expansions.
* Risk Assessment: Assess and mitigate risks associated with metered distribution assets.
* Safe Systems of Work: Develop and implement safe systems of work to improve operational safety, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulations.
Maintenance Strategy & Troubleshooting
* Maintenance Strategies: Develop and oversee long-term maintenance strategies to enhance system reliability.
* Maintenance Schedules: Establish and oversee maintenance schedules for metered distribution networks.
* Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to system performance.
* In-Field Technical Support: Provide in-field technical support to Area Technical Supervisors and contractors.
Project Management
* Project Planning: Plan, execute, and oversee upgrade projects on existing sites within the metered network as required.
* Stakeholder Management: Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
* Oversight Installations: Oversight installations, modifications, and infrastructure enhancements.
Profitability Assessments & Financial Optimization
* Profitability Analysis: Conduct profitability assessments for existing assets and evaluate investment requirements for new projects and upgrades.
* Asset Performance Optimization: Optimise asset performance to maximise cost efficiency and profitability.
* Budgeting & Cost Estimation: Assist in budgeting, cost estimation, and return-on-investment analysis for engineering initiatives.
Decommissioning & Asset Management
* Decommissioning Strategies: Develop and implement decommissioning strategies for outdated or redundant infrastructure.
* Safe Removal of Assets: Ensure safe and compliant removal of assets from service.
* Asset Lifecycle Management: Manage the lifecycle of engineering assets to enhance long-term sustainability.
Regulatory Compliance & Safety
* Regulatory Updates: Stay informed of changes to engineering regulations and industry best practices.
* Safety Standards: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and quality standards.
* Engineering Procedures: Develop and implement engineering procedures to maintain operational integrity.
Emergency Response & Support
* Technical Lead: Act as a technical lead in response to system failures or emergencies.
* Corrective Actions: Diagnose issues and implement corrective actions to restore operations.
Customer Focus & Teamwork: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence. Provide mentoring and training to technical teams where necessary.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation and identify opportunities for technological advancements. Develop and refine engineering processes for improved efficiency and reliability.
