We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Kildare.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance to a high standard across all depot vehicles and equipment.
Inspect and assess vehicles, addressing issues reported by drivers and identifying additional defects as needed.
Attend on-site and local breakdowns, carrying out efficient troubleshooting and repairs.
Maintain accurate service, repair, and inspection records.
Ensure the workshop and depot areas remain safe, clean, and organized.
Proactively identify and report safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, as well as company and RSA guidelines.
Participate actively in the company's Integrated Management System (IMS).
Collaborate closely with the transport team to minimize vehicle downtime and support operational efficiency.
Provide technical guidance and support to fellow mechanics, apprentices, and team members.
Requirements
Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar role or industry.
Hold a National Craft Certificate in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (SOLAS), Advanced Craft Certificate (FETAC Level 6), or equivalent qualification.
Possess a full Irish Category B driving licence (essential).
Category C or CE licence would be an advantage.
Flexible and willing to work on-call and handle urgent maintenance as required.
Must be eligible to work in Ireland.
Strong communication skills in written and spoken English.
Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
