Design Manager -Major Construction Project - Kildare
Are you a technically strong construction professional who enjoys leading the design process on complex, high-profile developments?
We are working with a highly respected contractor delivering landmark projects across commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial and mixed‑use sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their team and play a key role in the successful delivery of major construction projects.
The Opportunity
This is a senior project-facing role where you will take ownership of the design management process from pre‑construction through to project completion, ensuring designs are coordinated, buildable, compliant and delivered in line with programme objectives.
You’ll work closely with project teams, consultants, subcontractors and stakeholders to drive technical excellence and resolve challenges before they impact delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams throughout the project lifecycle
Manage the design programme and ensure information is issued in line with construction requirements
Review drawings, specifications and technical submissions for buildability and compliance
Coordinate consultants, specialist subcontractors and project stakeholders
Identify and resolve technical issues, risks and design clashes proactively
Support project teams in achieving programme, quality, safety and commercial objectives
Drive collaboration between site, commercial and design functions
What We’re Looking For
Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a related discipline
Experience within a main contractor, developer or construction delivery environment
Strong technical understanding of construction methodologies and design coordination
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within project deadlines
A proactive problem‑solver with strong commercial awareness
