Cumann Lthchleas Gael is Irelands leading sporting and cultural organisation with membership approaching one million people and in excess of 500,000 playing participants at all levels. Inspired by its amateur status and supported by the voluntary efforts of all its members, the GAA devotes its entire resources to the development of Gaelic Games and Culture nationally and in local communities.The Venue Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operations involved in running National Handball & Croke Park Community Centre and will ensure that all of the centres operations are delivered to the highest standards in a safe and welcoming environment, with support from the Stadium Operations Dept for the general management of the facility.Reports/Accountable to:Head of GAA HandballPrinciple AccountabilitiesThe management of the booking system which includes the online booking system and all bookings made in the centre.The management of non-GAA Handball centre staff, including the desk staff and the bar/cafe supervisor, including rostering.The management of the day-to-day operations of the centre, including events, maintenance, deliveries, etc.To act as chief liaison representing the centre for all things customer and community facing, including queries, request & complaints.Responsible for the day to daysporting and community activation delivery of the National Handball & Croke Park Community Centre.Develop a casual staff list to meet the demands of the centre's activities and manage the weekly rosters and payment approvals accordingly.Ensure that all necessary operational systems are in place to enable the development of games in National Handball & Croke Park Community Centre.Ensure that all the relevant policies/documentation relating to the centre are in place.Ensure that the operating procedures are in line with industry regulations and best practice.Ensure financial management procedures are in place and that effective budgetary control measures exist.Responsible for governance and maintenance of the centre's SLA's (service level agreements), as well as directing, coordinating and planning essential central services such as maintenance, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recycling.Maintaining and reviewing Fire Officer & Building Evacuation duties, conducting safety Inspections, Liaising with Fire Wardens, documenting details of all accidents and incidents, as well as working with the GAA Health and Safety co-ordinator to develop any additional SOPs which may be required.Supervise and coordinate the work of contractors and ensure standards are maintained. Generally monitoring and managing agreed service levels.Maintain and review preventative maintenance plans and procedures and ensure the work space meets legislative health and safety requirements.Operate the GAA Handball on-line shop as well as a small offering from the front desk.Develop a development plan for the centre.Work closely with board of the centre, GAA Handball and the communityParticipate in additional projects that might arise from time to time.Essential CriteriaRelevant third level qualification, minimum level 7 NFQ; 3 + years proven management experience;Ideal candidate will have worked/volunteered with the GAA or similar sporting organisation (Voluntary or Professional Capacity);Exceptional interpersonal skills, strong ability to work in high-pressure situations within a volunteer led organisation;Administration and IT skills with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related software packages and systems;Excellentcommunication/presentationskills(verbalandwritten);Excellentability to manage people/resourcesand build and sustain good team relationships and manage conflict;Strongleadershipanddecisionmakingskills;Provenproblem-solvingskillswithademonstrableabilitytoactonowninitiative;Desirable CriteriaKnowledge of the GAA and GAA HandballCandidates interested in the above role should apply with an up to date cover letter and Curriculum Vitae to this job poston or before 3pm on Monday the 19th of January 2026.The GAA is an equal opportunities employer
