Group Financial Controller - Wicklow
Overview
A well-established, growing group is seeking a Group Financial Controller to lead its finance function.
Reporting to the Finance Director, this role will own day-to-day financial operations, deliver accurate and timely reporting across multiple entities, and support the ongoing development of finance processes, systems and people.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with the Finance Director on the overall performance, direction and development of the group finance function.
Own the monthly and annual reporting cycle, including management accounts, key balance sheet reconciliations and supporting analyses.
Take responsibility for day-to-day finance operations (including payroll and supplier payments), ensuring strong controls, efficient processes and good working capital management.
Lead group cashflow planning, budgeting and reforecasting, highlighting risks and opportunities to senior management.
Ensure all statutory, tax and regulatory obligations are met across the group and coordinate a smooth external audit and year-end process.
Manage and develop a small finance team, embedding clear standards, KPIs and continuous process improvement to enhance the quality and usefulness of financial information.
Experience & Skills
Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
Strong post-qualification experience in a Group Financial Controller, Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
Proven track record of leading a finance team and managing the full month-end and year-end process.
Experience working with multi-entity structures and consolidations is highly desirable.
Strong technical accounting skills and solid understanding of financial controls and regulatory requirements.
Comfortable working with ERP/finance systems and driving process/system improvements.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
Hands-on, organised and commercially aware, with a focus on accuracy, deadlines and continuous improvement.
