Software Engineering Manager – Hands‑on (Kotlin)
Are you a seasoned engineering manager who still likes to stay close to the tech and get your hands dirty with the code? This role will fulfill all of those needs.
A large‑ish multinational e‑Comm company is looking for someone who can blend the following with ease:
People leadership: setting 1‑to‑1s, goals, KPIs, etc.
Technical architecture: sitting in design meetings.
Product focused: meeting with heads of product frequently and assessing tech feasibilities.
Hands‑on development when called upon to give your team a dig out.
You will oversee a team of 5 or 6 engineers, guiding them through new feature development etc.
From a hands‑on technical perspective, you will have experience with:
React/Type Script (not a deal breaker as this role is heavily backend leaning).
JVM languages – Scala, Java or Kotlin on backend.
This role would suit someone who is looking to work in a scale‑up environment, little red tape, access to the VP of engineering on a consistent basis, lots of ambiguity and thriving in such environments, and the overall wear many hats.
This role is majority remote; they would like people to come to the office 2 times per month for in‑person collaboration.
No visa sponsorship or remote outside Ireland; you need to be a tax resident here.
