Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing electrical services installations for buildings, creating detailed electrical design layouts, schematics, and calculations ensuring compliance with industry standards and project goals.
The role involves addressing design and technical challenges within projects to achieve the best engineering solutions, working directly with clients and project engineers to define project requirements and develop technical solutions, producing accurate estimates for projects, assessing contractor progress claims & variations, maintaining project documentation in accordance with ISO standards, engaging in QA audits, peer reviews, and technical workshops promoting continuous improvement in electrical solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum Level 7 Degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering/Building Services Engineering or equivalent, ideally 5+ years' experience in design with an engineering consultancy. You should have proven experience in electrical engineering design in a design office, ability to lead & deliver projects in accordance with Building Regulations and Design Standards, ability to work within a team, and independently when required.
You should also have demonstrated experience in a client facing role, upholds ethics and values, demonstrates integrity as a person who is trusted by others and consistently honours their commitments. Additionally, you should have proficient knowledge of electrical system designs, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, security and protective systems in accordance with Irish Regulations, experience working within ISO standards and project specific scopes.

You will be based in Kilkenny City and require working in the office initially for the first 6 months with hybrid option available thereafter.
