Responsibilities
* Supervise social care staff, assisting the Manager with implementing policies, procedures, and handling budget, Health and Safety, staff training, supervision, appraisal, and recruitment.
* Deputise for the Manager, overseeing operational tasks for the establishment and supporting service quality improvement within available resources.
* Providing leadership and guidance to the social care team in line with our model of care and policies and procedures.
* Ensure service users and staff are encouraged to participate in decision-making related to their care and services, and report any shortfalls to the Manager.
* Assess and supervise the preparation of reports and assessments, ensuring appropriate care practices are followed to preserve individuality and promote independence.
* Delegate key worker duties to staff, while also taking on key worker responsibilities when required.
* Liaise with external agencies professionally, ensuring all clients' social, medical, dietary, and religious needs are met.
* Maintain Health and Safety awareness, provide back-up support to staff, and chair meetings when needed.
* Participate in training and development, promote self-development among staff, and maintain confidentiality in all interactions.
Qualifications
* A Minimum level 7 Social Care Qualification
* Other min level 7 qualifications that may be considered are, Nursing, Teaching, Social Work, Social Science, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Psychology.
* Training in Supervision, TCI, Addiction, First Aid, and/or Health & Safety will be considered advantageous.
* A thorough knowledge of Principles and Practice of Social care.
* Understanding of basic management principles
* At least two years' experience, working at a social care grade with Children
* Full Driving License is essential
* Currently undertaking or holding a CORU-recognised Social Care Qualification
