Head of Engineering - Galway

A leading manufacturing site in Galway is undergoing major transformation and investment under private equity ownership.
We are seeking a Head of Engineering to modernise the engineering function, embed reliability practices, and significantly improve equipment uptime (targeting an increase from *****% to *****%).
Key Responsibilities
Lead a 30-person engineering team across maintenance, facilities, and projects
Implement reliability, predictive and preventative maintenance strategies
Improve equipment availability, changeover efficiency, and validation readiness
Ensure full GMP/FDA/HPRA compliance
Drive cultural modernisation and support digital transformation (incl. SAP rollout)
Oversee capital projects and partner with Production, Supply Chain, and Technical functions
Experience Required
Senior engineering leadership in high-availability manufacturing
Strong GMP/FDA knowledgeProven track record improving uptime via reliability engineering
Experience managing multi-product, high-changeover environments
Experience leading transformational change within engineering teams or site operations
Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and navigate complex organisational dynamics
