Job Title: Information Governance & Records Manager
Location: Belfast (Hybrid working considered; occasional travel across Northern Ireland may be required)
Salary: £47,304 - £49,515 per annum
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 5 days (flexi-working available)
Duration: Temporary, Full - time.
Fixed contract for 12 months
About the Role:
An established public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Information Governance & Records Manager to support its Finance and Corporate Affairs Division.
Reporting to the Head of Governance & Performance, you will lead the development and implementation of information governance policies and records management practices.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement information governance strategy, policies, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Data Protection Act, GDPR, Freedom of Information Act, and Environmental Information Regulations.
Manage records management practices, retention schedules, and prepare for potential electronic document management systems.
Act as the organisation's Freedom of Information Officer, responding to Fo I, Subject Access (SAR), and Environmental Information requests.
Deliver staff awareness sessions, workshops, and guidance on information governance and data management.
Keep up-to-date with legislative changes and best practice in information management.
Essential Criteria:
Relevant qualifications (Level 3-5, or IG/GDPR Practitioner Diploma or equivalent) with corresponding demonstrable experience in information governance, records management, or data protection.
Experience in developing and implementing an effective information governance framework in a large, complex organisation (≥100 employees, budget ≥£20m).
Proven experience managing Fo I, Data Protection, and EIR requests, delivering reports and presentations to senior management, and leading staff in governance roles.
Proficiency with EDRMS systems (e.g., TRIM, HP Records Manager, Meridio, Doxx, Share Point) and Microsoft Office packages.
Other Information:
Annual leave: 25 days, rising to 30 after 5 years, plus public and privilege holidays.
Pre-employment checks: qualification verification and basic Access NI check.
Probation period: 12 months.
