Lead Research and Development Teams
The ideal candidate will lead Research and Development teams in the execution of product development projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. This role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on delivering high-quality products to market.
Responsibilities
* Manage project resources, including personnel, budget, and timelines.
* Develop and implement effective project plans, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve business goals and objectives.
* Mentor and coach direct reports to enhance their skills and performance.
* Conduct regular team meetings and foster a positive work environment.
* Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including other R&D teams and functional groups.
* Identify and capitalize on opportunities for process improvements, driving efficiency and productivity.
Requirements
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, along with at least 10 years of relevant experience. Proven leadership and project management skills are essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences. Strong technical knowledge, particularly in medical device materials and engineering fundamentals, is also necessary.
A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, with a track record of motivating and leading talented engineering staff, is desirable.

Cook Medical has been based in Limerick since 1996, starting with labeling and distribution before expanding into manufacturing, centralized customer support, and collaborative product development. Our European headquarters and EMEA Support Centre are located in Limerick, which currently employs over 1000 people and manufactures 10% of Cook's global products.
The R&D team in Limerick is split into two divisions: Vascular and Medsurg. The R&D engineering teams are responsible for bringing products from concept to market launch, providing opportunities for engineers to create novel ideas, learn, and meet the requirements to bring medical devices through verification and validation.
