Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Health and Safety professional to join our team as a Site Safety Officer.
* To ensure the safety of all personnel on site and maintain a healthy safety record.
* Maintain company ethos of safety positively filtered down to all on site.
* Monitor, evaluate, and act upon any Health and Safety conditions injurious to Health and Safety in his/her area.
* Promote improvement and prevention by advice, education, and enforcement of appropriate legislation.
* Advise and assist SHEQ Manager in assessment of staff safety development and training needs.
* Contribute to company health and safety audits and attend meetings when required.
* Prepare method statements, risk assessments, update safety statement.
* Monitoring and contributing to company policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:
* Professional H&S degree qualification.
* 5 years' experience on construction sites.
* Proven track record within Industry on accident-free sites.
* Experience with ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, and SafeT Cert.
* Knowledge and experience in H&S Legislation and Procedures.
* Previous experience with drafting of tender documentation and prequalification.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Excellent computer skills.

This is a site-based role that offers the opportunity to work alongside a Health and Safety Manager, Contracts Manager, and Director of Construction.
Responsibilities will be under the supervision of the SHEQ Manager, who will visit site regularly to provide guidance.
Safety Officers are also backed up by independent safety consultants who carry out site inspections on a monthly basis.
