Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Data Centre HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Advisor to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance within our data centre operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HSE practices, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to fostering a safe and sustainable working environment.
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
* Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
* Provide expert advice and guidance to management and staff on HSE matters, promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
* Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Deliver HSE training and awareness programs to employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
* Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement in safety and environmental practices.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HSE considerations into all aspects of data centre operations.
* Stay updated on relevant legislation, regulations, and industry trends to ensure ongoing compliance and best practices.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a Health, Safety, and Environment advisory role, preferably within the data centre or technology sector.
* Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
* Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Proficiency in using HSE management systems and tools.
* A proactive and detail-oriented approach to managing HSE responsibilities.
Day-to-Day
* Conducting site inspections and ensuring compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
* Leading toolbox talks and safety briefings for employees and contractors.
* Reviewing and updating risk assessments and method statements.
* Investigating and documenting incidents, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up.
* Collaborating with operational teams to address HSE concerns and implement improvements.
* Monitoring environmental impact and ensuring sustainability initiatives are upheld.
* Preparing and submitting HSE reports to management.
