Purpose of the role
To independently assess and make credit decisions for complex financing transactions within the LevFin, SLF, and Hedge Funds sectors, ensuring alignment with the bank's credit risk appetite and regulatory requirements and contribute to the development and implementation of credit risk policies and procedures for the Specialised Sector.
Accountabilities
Analysis of complex financial information and business models of LevFin, SLF, and Hedge Fund clients to assess their creditworthiness, repayment capacity, and potential risks.
Monitoring of the performance of the LevFin, SLF, and Hedge Fund portfolio, identifying and reporting early warning signs of potential credit deterioration.
Evaluation of the risk profile of each application considering factors like industry trends, borrower financials, collateral, and market conditions.
Documentation credit decisions and rationale in a clear and concise manner, adhering to internal audit and regulatory reporting standards.
Development and implementation of strategies to mitigate identified credit risks and optimise portfolio performance.

As part of a small, dynamic team, you'll support senior colleagues in assessing new deals, monitoring existing clients, and ensuring we meet the highest standards of risk management and governance.
What you'll be doing:
Assisting with the preparation of credit papers and periodic reviews for leveraged finance clients
Supporting the screening and approval process for new transactions alongside senior team members
Monitoring the performance of a portfolio of clients and helping to identify potential risks
Engaging with stakeholders across the bank, including investment banking, corporate banking, legal, and regulatory relations
Developing a strong understanding of leveraged finance and corporate banking products
Contributing to a fluid, team-oriented environment where intellectual curiosity and initiative are valued
To be successful as an AVP Leveraged Finance risk, you should have experience with:
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret financial data and spot key trends
A foundation in credit analysis, with interest in developing deeper expertise in leveraged finance
Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team
Financial and commercial acumen, with the drive to learn quickly and hit the ground running
Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to problem solving
Some other highly valued skills include:
Prior exposure to corporate banking, credit, or leveraged finance
Experience in data analysis and financial modelling
Ability to build relationships with stakeholders and collaborate across teams
A high degree of self-motivation, a drive for results and a track record of setting and achieving goals and multi-tasking to meet competing deadlines
Relevant training or qualifications (e.g., CFA or equivalent) are a plus but not required
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in leveraged finance risk.
You'll start by supporting the team on core credit work and gradually take on more responsibility, including credit sanctioning decisions as you develop.

You will based in our Dublin, Ireland office.
This role is hybrid and will require 3 days a week in office.
This role is regulated by Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) - Controlled Function.
This role is deemed as a Controlled Function role under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
