Process Optimization Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Process Optimization Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the Engineering/Production department, you will play a vital role in improving manufacturing processes and developing optimum moulding processes and tooling that meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement process improvements using statistical techniques.
* Collaborate with Production Group leaders to troubleshoot processing problems and resolve customer-related issues.
* Train employees on new manufacturing skills and knowledge.
* Communicate with external suppliers of materials and equipment and provide regular feedback to management.
Requirements:
* Minimum of a National Diploma in Plastics Engineering (preferably a Degree in Engineering).
* At least 4-5 years of experience in the injection moulding industry.
* Good knowledge of Injection Mold tooling and design.
* Good knowledge of Injection Moulding (standard process and Multicomponent), Processing, Ancillary equipment and automation systems.
* Preferably worked in either the Medical, Packaging or technological industries.
* Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of experiments (DOE).
* Good knowledge of the principles of WCM, JIT, SMED and Kaizen.
* Knowledge in computers systems; integrated manufacturing systems; word processing and spreadsheets.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as the ability to accurately document work performed. Ability to work independently on own projects while working concurrently with all departments.
Essential job duties include working in a fast-paced environment and being able to travel as required by the position.
