Role and responsibilities:
· Perform fundamental sales and customer service activities from product enquiry to sale including:
* Preparation, communication and proactive follow up of customer and supplier quotations.
* Timely and accurate set up of new suppliers, customers, and product codes.
* Timely and accurate processing of purchase orders and customer orders (including samples) in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Liaising with customers and suppliers to facilitate timely delivery of open orders.
* Proactive collaboration with internal logistics, quality & compliance and finance functions to ensure we meet our customer commitments.
· Develop strong working relationships with existing customers and suppliers.
· Assist Product Managers with the monitoring and management of stock levels.
· Support the business development efforts of Product Managers as required.
· Attend customer and supplier meetings and visits when required.
· Assist the Sales and Marketing teams with the delivery of sales and marketing campaigns.
· Develop commercial & technical knowledge to aid with the aforementioned tasks and objectives.
· Assist with adherence the companies quality management system including quality standards, policies & procedures.
· Deliver against all agreed department KPls and service levels.
· Assist with cross-functional projects assigned by management.
· Develop and maintain efficient and effective working relationships with fellow colleagues.
· Assist in the continued development of other members of staff, particularly sales colleagues.
· Perform other tasks which be assigned by management from time to time.
Experience & competencies:
· Third level qualification in science, chemistry or allied field.
· Minimum two years post qualification work experience, preferably in the pharma industry.
· Ability to multitask and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
· Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft package.
