Transport Planner
to join their team in Co. Meath.
Our client operates a modern fleet of 55 HGVs across Ireland and Europe, supporting a diverse portfolio of customers within the food, retail, and pharmaceutical sectors. They also provide comprehensive warehousing services from their Meath based facility.
The Role
As a Transport Planner, you will play a central role in coordinating daily transport operations, ensuring all deliveries are planned efficiently, executed on time, and aligned with customer requirements. Experience with in International transport is highly desirable and past experience communicating and dealing with drivers is essential to be a successful fit for this role.
This role is a full time on site position.
Key Responsibilities
* Effectively schedule, allocate, and monitor job orders using the company's transport management system.
* Coordinate with the transport team and drivers to organise loads and ensure smooth daily operations.
* Plan and optimise routes to maximise efficiency, consolidate loads, and control costs.
* Maintain close communication with drivers to ensure delivery specifications and customer expectations are fully met.
* Engage proactively with clients, providing timely updates on collection and delivery times.
* Support general administrative and office duties as required.
About You
* Proven experience in a road transport operations environment is essential.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
* Confident communicator with excellent organisational skills and the ability to engage clearly and professionally with both customers and drivers.
* High level of computer literacy and ability to work efficiently with digital systems.
* Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
