Qualcomm Security Engineers perform security assessments, develop company products, and collaborate across functions to ensure performance metrics and product requirements are met.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
3+ years of Security Engineering experience or related work experience.
2+ years of experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, System Verilog, etc.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Applies Security knowledge and experience to achieve engineering business objectives.
Develops new hardware and software security features and updates features into existing products; ensures security of all products is maintained throughout the product lifecycle.
Performs security assessments and evaluation of company products, including vulnerability and risk assessments, threat analysis, and security code reviews to identify potential design and implementation vulnerabilities.
Identifies remediation for security risks and vulnerabilities, responds to product security incidents, and assists customers regarding product security related issues.
Develops and deploys trainings and tools that result in secure product development.
Level of Responsibility
Works independently with minimal supervision.
Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group.
Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions.
Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Security Engineering or related work experience.
Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Security Engineering or related work experience.
PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
