Job Summary:
We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and customer-focused Bar Staff to join our dynamic team on a part time basis at The Donaghmede Inn. As a key member of our frontline team, you will be responsible for ensuring our customers receive prompt, friendly, and efficient service, contributing to the welcoming and lively atmosphere that the Donaghmede Inn is known for.
Key Responsibilities:
* Customer Service Excellence:
* Greet all customers with a warm and friendly demeanour.
* Take drink orders accurately and efficiently.
* Serve beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and potentially food items in a professional and timely manner.
* Engage with customers in a polite and approachable way, building rapport and ensuring a positive experience.
* Handle customer queries and complaints with patience and professionalism, escalating to management when necessary.
* Promote special offers, new products, and upcoming events.
* Bar Operations:
* Prepare and serve a wide range of drinks, including pouring pints, mixing basic cocktails, and serving spirits and wines, adhering to standard measures and presentation.
* Operate till systems accurately, handling cash, card, and other payment methods.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked bar area at all times, including glassware, bottles, and bar equipment.
* Restock fridges, shelves, and dispense points throughout shifts as needed.
* Change kegs and gas cylinders safely and efficiently.
* Assist with daily opening and closing procedures, including cleaning, setting up, and tidying.
* Monitor and manage glassware, ensuring adequate clean stock.
* General Duties:
* Assist with clearing tables and general tidiness of the bar and public areas.
* Be aware of security procedures and report any suspicious activity.
* Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by management.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in a bar or hospitality environment.
* A good understanding of bar operations and drink preparation is beneficial.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and positive attitude.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure calmly.
* Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as per the rota.
* Must be over 18 years of age due to licensing requirements.
Desirable Attributes:
* Knowledge of local sports and events relevant to the Donaghmede community.
* A "can-do" attitude and a proactive approach to tasks.
* Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new procedures.
