The Opportunity What if the best version of a Bookkeeper role wasnt about being hidden in the background but about being the person who makes the numbers make sense? This is a 6-month fixed-term contract designed for a top-tier Bookkeeper who wants to be more than just accurate someone who takes pride in clarity, owns their domain, and enjoys working with a Head of Finance who values curiosity, dialogue, and precision. Youll join a company based on-site in Limerick City, where finance is seen as a partner to the business not just a function. You wont be micromanaged. Overview Our client is seeking a high-calibre Bookkeeper to join their collaborative finance team on an initial 6-month fixed-term basis. This is an on-site role in Limerick City, with full-time hours and meaningful ownership. Youll report to the Head of Finance, working in a small, professional team where mutual respect and real responsibility are the norm. While support is shared across areas such as AP, AR, and credit control, you will take exclusive responsibility for: Bank reconciliations Journal preparation and posting VAT and PAYE returns Bringing the accounts to full trial balance Youll also help shape the rhythm of the finance function bringing structure, tempo, and clarity to daily operations. Who we are seeking At least 2 years' experience in a Bookkeeper or similar finance role Deep familiarity with double-entry bookkeeping, journals, and reconciliations Confidence in preparing VAT and PAYE returns and managing Revenue deadlines Proficiency with accounting systems like Sage (or similar) Strong organisational skills with a calm, precise, and self-led approach Someone who enjoys working collaboratively on-site and values team energy A person whoknows theyre good and enjoys working with others who are, too Overview of the responsibilities Prepare and post accurate, timely monthly journals Reconcile all bank accounts and ensure supporting documentation is current Complete and file VAT and PAYE returns in compliance with Revenue requirements Bring accounts to full trial balance stage to support internal reporting Manage client account transactions including board receipts and payments As part of the broader team, you will also: Assist with accounts payable and receivable as needed Help with credit control and account queries Respond to internal and client-facing finance questions Support the Head of Finance on any ad hoc projects or improvements Apply If youre a high-performing Bookkeeper who enjoys working with sharp, engaged people and you're ready to bring structure, clarity, and momentum to a team that will value it wed love to hear from you.
