Overview
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is recruiting for a Care Worker for the Deise Day Care Centre, Mitchell Street, Dungarvan, Co Waterford.
Location: Dungarvan, Co Waterford. This is a permanent contract working 7 hours a week on Saturdays.
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland works across the country in the heart of local communities providing dementia specific services and supports and advocating for the rights and needs of all people living with dementia and their carers. The ASI is a national non-profit organisation, person centred, rights-based and grassroots led with the voice of the person with dementia and their carer at its core.
Responsibilities
* Provide person centered care to people with dementia in the Deise Day Care Centre.
* Demonstrate good communication and organizational skills and be able to work on your own initiative.
Qualifications
* Essential: previous experience of undertaking social and cognitive stimulation activities with people with dementia, older people or people with intellectual disabilities.
* Desirable: a FETAC level 5; confidence in using IT/Email.

We are offering a competitive salary commensurate with the care sector, and dependent on relevant experience.
Training, Compliance and Safety
The role holder must strictly adhere to all National Guidelines laid out in QSPD guidance and be COVID aware. Training in PPE / Infection Control and other relevant areas will be provided by The ASI prior to the role holder entering a client's home.
