Senior Quantity Surveyor – site based role in Dublin
Overview
Winthrop Technologies is a dedicated data centre delivery partner providing turnkey solutions to our clients, headquartered in Dublin and delivering throughout Europe. We specialise in providing turnkey data centre solutions from design through to construction across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical services as well as commissioning. We are recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for our Dublin projects.
Responsibilities
* Work with the senior project team to procure subcontract packages and other critical elements of the works.
* Generate quantified work packages, ITTs and budgets from technical documents.
* Analyse and present tender returns.
* Prepare and agree subcontract documents.
* Commercial management of multiple subcontract packages from order through to final account, monthly payments, variation and claims management.
* Continuously monitor costs and financial entitlement on the packages / projects under your control.
* Engage with clients, subcontractors, designers and internal team members.
* Submit contractually compliant commercial documentation.
* Develop, submit and agree external valuations.
* Negotiate and agree variations, omissions and final accounts with subcontractors and clients in a timely and professional manner.
* Provide regular cost / value and cash flow reporting.
* Pro-actively resolve conflicts where possible.
* Supervise and develop junior members of the commercial team.
* Create and manage reporting of project costs to align with client KPIs and benchmarks.
* Identify cost‑down initiatives on projects and provide executive summaries to senior management.
* Monitor factors that influence construction costs and seek efficiencies in project delivery across multiple projects.
* Analyse and report critical project performance data to Winthrop senior management monthly.
* Review and engage with the supply chain to track capacity and capability to deliver works.
* Develop and maintain the screening and onboarding program for the supply chain.
* Manage reporting of project safety, quality, schedule and sustainability performance against client KPIs and benchmarks.
* Analyse, track and report critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slippage.
* Lead client and other required meetings on project performance.
* Lead weekly meetings with project department managers (safety, planning, commercial, quality).
* Report on diversity and inclusion data for Winthrop and our supply chain and engage with department leads delivering this programme.
* Collaborate with the Project Director and other discipline Project Leads to gather data efficiently.
Requirements
* Relevant degree, typically with 7+ years' relevant experience.
* Strong technical understanding of building construction and processes.
* Familiarity with various methods of measurement.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong business relationships.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent budgeting and financial forecasting skills.
* Familiarity with Buildsoft, CostX or similar is advantageous.
* Data Centre experience is advantageous.
