Production Supervisor
About the role
The purpose of your role is to supervise a dedicated operations team to ensure that all safety, quality, and legal standards are met as well as ensuring production output meets the production plan and all production orders are filled on daily basis.
Key tasks
* Maintain excellent standards of Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Housekeeping Practice
* Maintain production records, quality checks and housekeeping. Act as a member of the HACCP team
· Lead, coach and train your team to enhance their skill set and builds a fun, engaging performance led team
· Manage staff workload by delegating tasks accordingly and efficiently to ensure production quotas are met, ensuring all staff are fully aware of their duties
· Carry out training as required including new starters and refresher training for existing employees
* Highly motivated team player with ability work using own initiative
* Ability to manage multiple priorities within a production environment
· Assist with continuous improvement activities. Identify any areas for optimisation and make recommendations to be part of building Traditional Cheese to be the best it can be
Experience and Qualifications:
* Leaving Certificate (or equivalent).
* Education to degree level in a Science/Engineering discipline is desirable
· Experience of using a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and other manufacturing systems desirable
* Knowledge of quality and food safety legislation desirable
* Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills
* Flexible and committed attitude with the ability to display initiative
* Flexibility in covering different shifts and weekends
* IT literate with strong Word, Excel and database skills
* Problem solver, disciplined in collecting information, ascertaining root cause of issues and identifying and developing practical solutions
