KNOW THE ROLE
The Management Accountant supports the delivery of accurate and timely financial and management reporting to enable informed business decision-making. The role contributes to the monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring robust financial controls, compliance with regulatory and audit requirements, and the provision of meaningful financial insights. Working collaboratively across the organisation, the role supports budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to help drive the organisation strategy and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
Support the preparation and completion of Monthly Management Accounts ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting deadlines
Deliver month-end analysis of costs, variances, and financial performance to management and budget holders
Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements
Perform monthly stock reconciliations and review weekly stock adjustments
Complete balance sheet reconciliations to audit standard on a monthly basis
Support internal and external audits by responding to audit queries and providing documentation
Analyse financial data, identifying trends, variances, and performance insights
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning cycles
Ensure compliance with financial governance, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
Work cross-functionally with business stakeholders to interpret financial information and business requirements
Provide team support and cover for colleagues where required
Contribute to ad-hoc financial analysis, projects, and process improvements
Support delivery of commercial insights to support strategic decision-making
KNOW WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Qualified / Qualified by Experience Accountant (ACCA / CIMA) with 2–5 years Management Accounting experience
Strong financial analysis, reporting, and data interpretation skills
Advanced Excel and MS Office proficiency
Experience preparing management accounts, reconciliations, and financial reports
Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical thinking
Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines
Experience working in a retail or commercial environment desirable
Knowledge of financial systems such as FSM, Cognos, or Qlikview advantageous.
