The Duty Manager will work in conjunction with the General Manager for the smooth and efficient operation of all areas of the hotel, with a hands on approach.
Primary Responsibilities
To ensure that the operation is running to the agreed standard
To assist on the front desk when required
To assist in the daily operation of the Food & Beverage outlets
To patrol the building ensuring that all fire exits are free from obstruction and in proper working order
Be present around the building during your shift. In particular, to maintain a lobby presence between the peak check in/out times, during lunchtime in around the lobby and restaurant
To ensure that the highest level of cleanliness is upheld in all areas of responsibility
Is highly visible and interfaces with customers on a regular basis to obtain feedback on quality of product, service levels and overall satisfaction, effectively responds to guest problems and complaints
To be operationally responsible for the service delivery and standards throughout the entire building when on Duty
Patrol the building at regular intervals paying particular attention to cleanliness, both inside and outside the building
To patrol the building ensuring that all fire exits are free from obstruction and in proper working order
To take control and lead the team in the event of a fire alarm or pre-alarm scenario
The Candidate
At least 3 years' experience at Duty Management level with exposure to both rooms and food and beverage departments
Standards focused with high attention to detail
Effective and influential people skills. Positive attitude and the desire to motivate others
Ability to prioritize and work on several projects simultaneously
Strong communication and listening skills
Strong command of software applications, especially Microsoft Office, and hotel-specific platforms (MICROS and Guest line)
