Contract: Full Time/Fixed Term
The Advanced RF Technologies (ART) Group at Tyndall National Institute (TNI) and University College Cork are seeking a Post-doctoral Researcher/Scientist in Microwave/mm-Wave active circuits for 5G RF front-ends. The team aims to recruit well-qualified and highly-motivated researchers with expertise in RF/mm-Wave circuit design, power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, RF front-end components, and integrated circuits. The successful candidate will lead an interdisciplinary project to develop highly-integrated RF front-ends for versatile 5G RF transceivers. Requirements include RF circuit design, electromagnetic design, linear and nonlinear RF characterization, project management, and supervision of MSc and PhD students.
The initial contract is 18 months with potential extension based on performance and funding.
The candidate will join a diverse community at TNI and UCC, with access to advanced design, characterization, and microfabrication facilities. More information can be found on the websites of the Advanced RF Technology Group, University College Cork, and Tyndall National Institute.
Key responsibilities:
* Design and modeling of RF front-end components and circuits.
* IC design using process development kits (PDKs).
* RF characterization of devices and systems.
* Managing research projects.
* Preparing presentations and reports.
* Publishing research in IEEE journals and conferences.
* Supervising MSc and PhD students.
* Participating in outreach activities.
* Ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
* Performing additional duties as required.
Qualifications include a PhD in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or related fields, with 3+ years of post-PhD experience in RF component design and testing, proficiency in RF design tools, experience with IC design using PDKs, and a strong publication record. Experience in filter design, mentorship, and teaching is also desirable.
Salary ranges for Post-Doctoral Researchers are €41,207-€47,477 per annum, and for Senior Post-Doctoral Researchers €48,813-€51,617 per annum, based on the IUA Scale.
