Overview
Lead Quality & Test Automation Engineer to take ownership of automation strategy and embed best practices within a high-performing Agile team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll set direction, mentor others, and ensure quality is built in from day one.
Role: Technical Recruitment Consultant (Software Engineering, Product, Design) – Lead Quality & Test Automation
Employment type: 12-Month Contract – Hybrid (3 Days Onsite) – Competitive Day Rate
Responsibilities
* Design, maintain, and evolve automation frameworks (Cypress, Java, RestAssured, JMeter, SQL).
* Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines and drive shift-left practices.
* Lead accessibility testing to WCAG standards.
* Oversee performance testing, collaborating with developers to optimise systems.
* Define and track quality metrics for continuous improvement.
* Mentor engineers, championing automation and clean coding principles.
What You’ll Bring
* 9+ years in test automation and quality engineering.
* Strong Java & Spring skills with API automation experience.
* UI automation (Cypress/Playwright), SQL expertise, and CI/CD integration (Jenkins or similar).
* Knowledge of TDD/BDD, performance, and security testing.
* Proactive leadership, clear communication, and a passion for raising engineering quality.
