Ecological Consultant Role
Fehily Timoney and Company is a leading provider of ecological consultancy services, specializing in sustainable infrastructure and environmental management.
Job Description:
* Lead the delivery of high-quality ecological consultancy services across various projects.
* Provide specialist ecological input to ensure seamless project execution.
* Plan, conduct, and supervise ecological surveys and fieldwork activities to gather valuable data.
* Develop and implement Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs) to minimize environmental impact.
* Prepare and oversee Appropriate Assessments, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), Biodiversity Chapters for Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), and other environmental reporting requirements.
* Promote quality control across all project outputs with a focus on detail, accuracy, timely delivery, and continuous improvement within the Ecology Team.
* Act as an expert witness at Oral Hearings when required.
This role requires a degree in ecology or a related discipline and a minimum of 10 years post-graduate experience in environmental consultancy. The ideal candidate will have proven experience serving as an expert witness and participating in oral hearings, in-depth knowledge of Irish wildlife and conservation legislation, strong technical report writing capabilities, and demonstrated experience in preparing and overseeing the implementation of CEMP's.
Requirements:
* Master's degree in ecology or a related discipline.
* Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental consultancy.
* Membership in a professional body such as CIEEM or CIWEM.
