We are now recruiting for a Senior Process Engineer to join the team in Cork, Ireland.
Job Summary
This role is to provide engineering support and technical leadership for manufacturing operations in several process steps based within the Foundry value stream, focusing on key business drivers such as HSE, Quality, Supply, and Cost.
The role will also require a focus on process stability, involving leading and prioritizing VCP and CIP projects. As Zone owner, the role involves collaborating with various functional groups delivering projects in the value stream such as NPI and Manufacturing Engineering, as well as with suppliers and sister sites running similar processes.
Duties And Responsibilities
General
* Support attainment of key business metrics through engineering support for value stream processes.
* Eliminate safety and quality risks in the process through robust engineering solutions.
* Lead cost reduction efforts via scrap, reprocessing, and consumable projects.
* Design & develop tools, fixtures, gauges, and special equipment in collaboration with Toolroom Technicians and vendors.
* Develop stable and capable manufacturing processes using structured approaches.
* Prepare relevant manufacturing specifications.
HSE
* Promote a safety culture actively.
* Manage contractors/vendors to ensure safety compliance.
* Ensure production equipment meets health, safety, and environment standards, completing necessary assessments and documentation.
Quality
* Proficient in validation requirements for new consumables/materials and process changes.
* Maintain manufacturing specifications for process steps.
* Close quality actions promptly (Audit Actions, NCRs, CAPAs).
* Manage process development and validation in line with Quality management system.
Supply
* Support daily operations via pulse walks and action closure.
* Conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions for supply and quality issues using tools like 8D and Six Sigma.
* Provide timely project reports and ensure project delivery within timelines.
Cost
* Manage consumables budget, identify cost-saving opportunities, and lead savings initiatives.
* Lead scrap reduction through data analysis and problem solving.
* Identify and lead continuous improvement projects for cost and technical enhancements.
* Contribute process input to value stream mapping and develop equipment layouts using Lean tools.
People
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, demonstrating teamwork.
* Display strong leadership within the Engineering team.
* Develop and uphold a Credo & Behavioural Standards-based culture.
Strategic
* Work with leadership to develop and implement strategic engineering goals.
* Support strategic initiatives across engineering and plant operations.
Qualifications
Essential
* Degree in Engineering/Science with 5+ years of experience.
* Proven project leadership skills, capable of completing projects on time and within budget.
* Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
* Ability to understand technical issues and develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
