Project Engineer – Mallow, Co. Cork
A leading engineering and infrastructure organisation is seeking a proactive Project Engineer to join its team based in Mallow. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects across the Municipal, Dairy, Food & Beverage and Pharmaceutical sectors, supporting sustainability, water treatment and advanced infrastructure development throughout Ireland.
The successful candidate will gain hands‑on experience across a wide range of technically challenging projects while working within a collaborative and supportive engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Delivery
Develop and manage project plans, schedules and budgets.
Coordinate all project phases including design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
Ensure projects meet technical specifications, environmental standards and client requirements.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Promote and enforce health, safety, quality and environmental standards on site.
Prepare and manage permits, documentation and compliance records.
Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and regulatory bodies.
Communicate project updates, risks and progress effectively.
Maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Resource & Team Management
Coordinate project resources efficiently.
Supervise site teams and support training and development activities.
Maintain team productivity and collaboration.
Risk & Quality Management
Identify and mitigate project risks proactively.
Implement quality control procedures and ensure all works meet industry standards and client specifications.
Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
Financial & Procurement Oversight
Monitor project costs and support financial reporting.
Coordinate procurement activities including supplier management, subcontractor agreements and material sourcing.
Ensure timely delivery of equipment and services to meet project deadlines.
Sustainability & Innovation
Support sustainable engineering practices within water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Contribute to innovative solutions that improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Skills & Experience
Third level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Relevant engineering qualifications and industry experience will also be considered.
Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
Good PC and Microsoft Office skills.
Full Irish driving licence required.
Previous project engineering experience within utilities, infrastructure, water, wastewater or industrial sectors would be advantageous.
